Polymer Clay Jewelry

Polymer clay is one of the most versatile jewelry-making materials, as it can be made to resemble just about anything--metal, transparent or opaque gemstones and beads, wood, plastic, and more. Polymer clay is readily available and inexpensive, and it comes in a variety of colors and finishes, all of which make it even more suited to jewelry making. Polymer clay is conditioned by working it in the hands and/or passing it through a pasta machine, which is also used to create sheets of clay. Polymer clay is baked to cure and harden it to make it durable and to make the designs more permanent and it can be carved, drilled, painted, textured, blended or coiled into a variety of designs.
