Hey!
I am not a jeweler, but my friend is and I was jumping around looking for tools or supplies she might like, but I thought I should ask some experts to see what she could get the most use out of.
She makes a lot of rings and pendants.
Any suggestions on some cool stuff I could get her?
My family used to buy me tools but they were never the right kind, of poor quality or for another craft altogether. So I finally got them into buying me jewelry making books or subscriptions to jewelry making magazines. I almost always get somethings out of the books in the way of inspiration and the magazines in the way of skill improvement. If I want a tool I usually just buy it myself or if my wife really wants to get me a new tool we go together so I can get what I really want and need. Second guessing on tools is not a good idea.
Same here. And that goes for just about any hobby or craft. Family or friends usually buy things that I could buy at a better price so I wouldn't want them to waste their money. Gift certificates are always good for my favorite supply store.
