I attended Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, Massachusetts from 1979 - 1981 and majored in Graphic Design and Illustration. (A bit of trivia about Bunker Hill Community College: It was situated on the exact spot the old Charlestown State Prison.) After completing studies at Bunker Hill, I applied to and was accepted at Massachusetts College of Art where I first majored in Illustration and then sculpture. I'm a competent illustrator, but was told by my academic adviser that I was a fine artist and that was the best course of study for me.
My media include wood, glass, metal, found objects, fabric, and ceramics, and any little interesting things that look inviting.
Like many artists, not only is it sometimes hard to make ends meet, but creating art can present all kinds of unexpected challenges. I carry on doing my best to create art that's beautiful, and that's meaningful enough for me.
