Hi Everyone! This is my first post here. I have been working with Silver Metal Clay for some time
This is an example of Negative Space Caning using layers of metal clay and a combustible material (wood clay). My focus is on creating filigree and chambers for resin, enamel or polymer inlay, and patterns easily duplicated for tessellating designs. What happens to the cane is it is sliced, arranged into a jewelry design, fired, and then the combustible material disappears after firing in a kiln which leaves the openings
This example shows one cane that has been sliced and used in 2 different projects. Thanks for letting me share.
