I have made several pieces of sterling jewelry that have freshwater pearls, swarovski crystals, and river stones incorporated in the design, and the silver has started to tarnish. How do I clean the silver without damaging the pearls, crystals and stones? One of the necklaces is a crocheted wire piece with the stones stitched in throughout, so this seems particularly difficult to clean. Thank you, any information is very much appreciated!
I have use this pump spray product made by W.J. Hagerty & Sons, www.hagertyusa.com call Silversmiths' Pump Spray Polish and it works great to remove tarnish from silver that is surrounded by pearls, crystals and other such things, I have used it for several years now with great success. It also slows down the formation of future tarnish. I buy it from my local bead and silver dealer. Hagerty has many other useful product too.
