Tanzanite & Tsavorite Bisymmetric Cut

26 Aug 2010

We challenged Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist readers to create a design based on this cut.

In the June 2010 issue of Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist, we challenged readers to design a setting for the gem pictured at left. It's actually a 1.33-carat tanzanite paired with a 1.28-carat tsavorite garnet. The two color-set is an example of Colorado gem artist Stephen M. Avery's signature "bisymmetric" cut.

Our wonderfully creative readers came up with a wide range of terrific designs. Some of the best were published in the September issue of Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist and are also pictured here. You can find more Design Around This Challenges in the pages of Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist.
