Resin, Paper, Fibers, and More: Mixed-Media Jewelry Making with Kristal Wick

16 Apr 2012

Kristal made these sparkling bezels using UV resin and chunky Martha Stewart glitter.

I've always loved mixed-media jewelry, probably because it combines some of the many crafts I've enjoyed for years. When you put all the paper products from scrapbooking and card making together with the fibers and fabrics from quilting and sewing, the stamps and inks from rubber stamping, and the beads, bezels, findings, and other jewelry-making components from jewelry making . . . you've got quite a stash for making mixed-media jewelry!

Plus it's hard to keep all those supplies apart in my studio. I think they want to play together! So, I love finding ways to allow that to happen. My sparkle sistah Kristal Wick is a master at mixed-media jewelry making; with a repertoire that spans fibers, fabrics and quilting, beads, resin and clays, papers, paints, crystals, her Sassy Silky fabric beads, and more, Kristal is the queen of mixed media jewelry-making. Here are some of my favorite posts sharing Kristal's mixed-media jewelry tips and techniques:
